IPPIS

The conceptual idea of IPPIS started in October 2006 by the Federal Government of Nigeria, as one of its Reforms. IPPIS Secretariat is a Department under the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation responsible for the payment of salaries and wages directly to Government employee bank accounts with appropriate deductions and remittances for third-party payments, such as the Federal Inland Revenue Service and State Boards of Internal Revenue.

What is IPPIS?

PPIS means Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System. IPPIS stands as a key component of the Federal Government of Nigeria’s Transformation agenda, designed to establish a centralized database system for the Nigerian Public Service, with a single and precise repository of information of Employee information that provides integration with other business applications.

IPPIS Objectives

Provide a centralized database to aid the Government’s manpower planning and decision-making
Facilitate the automation and storage of employee records to support the tracking of staff salary payments in alignment with the budget. Avoid unnecessary waste and leaks by ensuring that staff compensation is by using accurate and factual information.
Ensure prompt payment of salaries directly to Employees’ Accounts with appropriate deductions and remittances of 3rd party payments (e.g. Tax, Pension, Cooperatives, Union Dues, and Bank Loans).

IPPIS Registration Exercise – Steps to register

  1. Visit www.verification.ippis.gov.ng
  2. Enter your “IPPIS number”
  3. Enter your registration token (If you are finding it hard to generate a token, meet your Human Resource (HR) to direct you.
  4. Then log in to access your portal via www.verification.ippis.gov.ng

IPPIS Verification Procedures for IPPIS Verification Exercise

Follow the instructions below for a successful verification

  • A login page appears on the screen with provision for Employee IPPIS Number, Login Token, and CAPTCHA Text entries. Below these, is a Token generation box for an employee to first generate a login token before he/she attempts a login
  • Employee Clicks on Generate Your Token located in the lower part of the login page, if he or she is the first timer on the portal. He enters the IPPIS number, Mobile phone number, and email addresses if it does exist, and clicks Generate.
  • The employee receives copies of a token as SMS on the phone numbers and as well in the email box supplied
  • Employee returns to the login page, enter IPPIS number, Login token, and the Captcha text in their appropriate boxes, and clicks on login. A box to select present employee MDA is displayed
  • Employee selects present MDA, and after its acceptance, the first form (Employee Personal Info) is opened as default and The remaining forms are listed on the left-hand side of the portal homepage. The displayed information corresponds to the employee whose name is linked to the entered IPPIS number.
  • An employee fills out the first form and saves its content by clicking Update Profile. The employee fills the remaining forms one after the other and saves or updates them as appropriate. Employees can take a break and resume filling out the forms at a later time. Provided the final Confirmation box has not been checked and submitted on either the Summary or Print Slip pages.
  • After every form has been reviewed and saved, employees perform the final operation by checking the Confirmation box and clicking on the Submit button either on the summary or print slippages.
  • The analysis provided on the summary report page serves as a guide for understanding your inputted data.
  • The staff member creates and produces a Verification Slip (Three copies required).
  • Employee’s Director HR endorses slip for presentation at IPPIS verification center
