In Zamfara State, 160 officers have been promoted by the Nigerian Police.

This comes after they made an attempt to encourage and inspire the state’s frontline police to step up their fight against insecurity.

Mohammed Dalijan, the commissioner of police of Zamfara State, bestowed the new ranks to the promoted officers.

Friday, at the State Police Command headquarters, the Commissioner of Police addressed the newly decorated officers and stated that the promotion was part of continuing efforts to motivate and inspire personnel fighting insecurity in the state.

According to Dalijan, the promotion was a double whammy: a recognition of their previous work and an impetus to step up their game in the face of persistent security threats.

That the higher-ups in the police department thought you were deserving of a promotion is something you should be eternally thankful for. Everything you do, think, plan, and operate should reflect your new status; your promotion is to make you change. “What is expected of those to whom much is given?” he continued.

As a result of your promotion, we will assign you new responsibilities. Because of the high hopes, you must pray earnestly. If you want us to acknowledge that, indeed, you are in a new rank, you need to improve your performance and implement new tactics to combat crime.

The commissioner emphasized that the newly promoted officers’ responsibilities have grown in tandem with their level, and he urged them to step up their efforts to combat the banditry threat.

The following personnel changes occurred within the department: 84 ASP IIs were promoted to ASP Is, and 76 Inspectors were promoted to ASP IIs
